I'm New Here
Welcome! We are so excited to have you come and visit us here at Oak Park. We hope that you will enjoy your time with us! Here are a couple of things you might like to know.
New to church? No problem. We typically begin our service with a time of congregational worship. After the first song or two, the children aged one through Grade 6 are dismissed to continue worshiping in our children’s ministry called KidsPark. (If you’d like to preregister your kids to make it quicker Sunday morning, you can do so on our preregistration form.) The adults and youth continue to worship together. For those of you with children, your children are welcome to stay with you in the service if they do not feel comfortable going upstairs.
If you have an infant or a toddler under nineteen months, please feel free to make use of our Nursery area which is located across from the bathrooms on the main floor. The service is broadcast into this room so that you don’t have to miss a minute while your infant plays, naps, and/or snacks. After worship, the Junior High students are dismissed to their class and there is a time of teaching.
At Oak Park, we partake of communion each week as we feel that it is an important part of worship. Please feel welcome to participate, or to let the emblems pass you by. We also collect an offering. This is for our regular attendees, please feel no obligation to give. Our service ends with a final congregational song.
When the service has ended, if you dropped children off in KidsPark please return to KidsPark to collect those children. Do not forget to bring the numbered tag you received at check-in. If you have children in KidsPark and need to leave early, please talk with Pastor Sara or your child’s teacher before the service or when you drop them off.
We're so glad you took the time to visit us online. We'd love to meet you in person and find out how we can help you take the next step in getting to know Jesus.
We know that visiting a church can be intimidating, but I assure you that we'll do whatever we can to make you feel welcome.
